Process & Flow Assurance Eng. Specialist

Job Purpose

• Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in process and flow assurance engineering to Operations and other Departments, including major projects to address technically complex and long-term process flow assurance issues.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

• Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders (Onshore and Offshore Operation, Engineering, Subsurface, Offshore Pipeline Operations, Pipeline Integrity Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Production Planning, etc).
• Required to independently undertake multi-disciplinary tasks whille providing expertise in specialised area like offshore and flow assurance to support operation surveillance, shutdown planning, pipeline pigging, chemical management.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Complete day-to-day process surveillance activities in compliance with QLMS ASV L3 process ‘Perform Plant Facilities Surveillance’ for all QatarEnergy LNG Offshore assets to ensure safe, reliable and optimum production.
• Prepare and issue surveillance reports with recommendations, troubleshooting issues and escalating any threats and deviations promptly. Support hydrate management and flow assurance by monitoring multiphase flow dynamics during pigging, planned or unplanned shutdowns, and ramp-up or ramp down operations across all the pipelines to avoid detrimental effects at receiving facilities.
• Review and monitor system and process efficiencies to enhance asset performance, providing advanced and long-term engineering solutions in compliance with the existing procedures and operating manuals. 
• Ensure Process Engineering and Flow Assurance support to EMOCs, other process engineering studies for the assigned area and conduct the assigned EMOCs and AIR.
• Participate and contribute in FRAs, RCFAs, RS, HAZOPs, HAZID, SIL and other assessments to address process safety and reliability issues.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Provide shutdown support to respective asset, including shutdown scoping and planning of process related activities. Provide flow assurance support for pipeline operations, pipeline chemical management, and pipeline integrity.
• Support the management of HMS Procedures, Pipeline Operating Manuals, and Pipeline Management System (PMS) to ensure availability of adequate tools for flow assurance activities.
• Participate and provide input in regular operations meetings (e.g., daily operations meetings, ALT meetings, SHE committee meetings, etc.), to address operations inquiries requiring Process & Flow Assurance Engineering Support.
• Liaise with Process & Flow Assurance Engineering Lead to provide updates and highlight the key issues to ensure proper management support.
• Oversee the integration of flow assurance constraints during UGP review meetings and facilitate effective communication of identified limitations to stakeholders and asset teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.  

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment (preferably Offshore Process).
• Possess pipelines flow assurance working experience with knowledge on offshore pipelines corrosion, failure mechanisms and corrosion controls.
• Good knowledge of industry analysis tools and software (PIPESIM, OLGA, HYSYS, PVTSIM, etc).
• Attain/maintain competence level in accordance with the technical competence framework requirements.
