Job Purpose

 

  • Under the direct supervision of Leading Fire Fighter, respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, hazardous materials, rescue, and other calls to protect life, property, and environment. Participate in fire prevention and training; and always maintain the fire station and firefighting equipment in readiness state.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Respond to emergency calls safely, promptly, and effectively.
  • Respond to off-duty calls during weekends or days-off when requested.
  • Assist medical team in providing first aid support during emergencies.
  • Perform direct firefighting and rescue activities as directed and safely extinguish fires using the appropriate firefighting equipment, methods, and techniques.
  • Conduct search and rescue operation safely and effectively.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Safely and defensively drive and operate Fire Trucks and associated fire and rescue equipment.
  • Protect property from fire damage and protect scene evidence for investigation.
  • Follow fire ground command strategies, tactics and work closely with other firefighters to ensure team safety.
  • Perform daily routine fire trucks and fire equipment inspection and testing, report equipment defects and malfunctions to on-duty Station Officer, and update records.
  • Participate in all firefighting training and exercise activities.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school education plus relevant vocational training program (mainly completion of NFPA approved Fire Fighting I and II training course or an approved/recognized Firefighter Recruit Certificate by local/external Civil Defense).

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 2 years’ experience as a Firefighter.
  • Attain heavy vehicle driving license.
