Machinery control system engineering Specialist

Job Purpose

• Provide a variety of Machinery Control Engineering support to contribute to department objectives in meeting Company strategy. Perform as Subject Matter Expert and as Technical Authority in
  Machinery control area. Ensure the adequacy of the machinery control systems for maintaining safety, profitability, availability and reliability purposes.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

• Operates in technical environment with interface with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialised area.
• Knowledge of internal company procedures such as MOC, QatarEnergy LNG Project Management System, supply, and others as applicable to provide guidance to engineering team.

Key Job Accountabilities

1. Provide a variety of machinery control system engineering support to contribute to the division strategy and goals.
2. Support the Lead of Control system Engineering in defining long term plans including budgets forecasts for proactive, optimal and cost-effective integrity & obsolescence management, and
   optimization associated with control systems.
3. Support obsolescence team to create and define long term upgrade plans for proactive, optimal and cost-effective obsolescence management of critical control systems.
4. Define and perform Machinery control system administration activities such as (user access control, advisories review, OEM Technical case follow-up, etc) to achieve high standards of reliability, availability.
5. Define and document best practices within the area of specialization, implement performance improvement initiatives and review and validation of Machinery control system procedures.
6. Monitor plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities are meeting the section and division KPIs.
7. Carry out control systems Management of changes, Feasibility studies, and projects. Confirm quality milestone completion as per company policy and procedures following company &
   international standards.
8. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants, and service providers. Conduct trainings, support competency development for engineers and National developees plans and keep abreast of new technologies in the field of specialisation.
9. Contribute to defining and implementing the Company integrity and reliability programs such as RCFA, Equipment Strategy for PM. Contribute to HAZOP, SIL studies.
10. Act as Subject Matter Expert and/or as Technical Authority in area of specialization. Participate in review of high-risk technical issues, specifications and deviations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

• 8 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment.
• Experience in Turbo Machinery control Applications such as from GE, CCC or Triconex.
• Knowledgeable of relevant international standards such as IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP and their application is necessary.
