Job Purpose

Provide leadership to a multidiscipline organisation accountable towards achieving the safe, reliable, environmentally sound, and economically optimised offshore operations. Oversees the planning and monitoring of other activities in the field (drilling, projects, shutdowns, well work and integrity inspections) to develop integrated work plans that ensures optimised usage of resources, minimise volumetric downtime and of full alignment with overall corporate objectives and maximize shareholders’ value.

Key position through leadership and decision making has a significant impact on the both the offshore asset performance, risk management and the offshore facility performance in ensuring the sustained delivery of gas to the onshore inlet facilities.

The role leads and manages all QELNG Offshore Production & Maintenance activities: including Well Operations, Logistics, Shutdowns, Brownfield interface including with Major Project tie-ins, simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) with Drilling & Completions and Safety of Offshore Assets.

The role manages the full performance of complex, geographically spread offshore facilities, including living quarter complex with more than 10 geographically diverse remote wellhead platforms having more than 100 offshore wells to provide world-scale gas feedstock to LNG plants and Two gas pipeline projects to support QatarEnergy LNG's sales of LNG, NGL, Sales Gas, Helium, Sulphur, Condensate, and its refined products.

The job holder manages and controls offshore operations & maintenance activities, accommodation services and logistics, planned and unplanned shutdowns, project expansion coordination and execution, including simultaneous operations involving complex brown field project scope.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - II

Major challenges of this role are (1) Ensure the Offshore facility Safety Performance is aligned with Company’s Objectives (2) Ensure long term optimal facility availability, reliability and integrity requirements are balanced against meeting production targets for onshore gas demand (3) incorporate improvement opportunities to positively influence offshore performance in a cost effective way (4) challenging offshore environment consisting of inter-field transfer by boat or helicopter and managing people at outlying wellheads with limitations of infield support vessel response time (5) Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) with drilling & completion activities and significant brownfield activities associated with North Filed Sustainability Projects (NFPS) (6) changing operational requirements with adjustments that require amending formal plans quickly and accurately (7) deciding actions to be taken in an emergency with potential for escalating circumstances to the point of platform abandonment (8) manage shutdown turnaround with limited in-house resources including manpower planning, material identification and work execution (9) manage a rotational diverse multi-cultural and multi-national team within a work and social environment during offshore rotational period including +200 contracted employees (10) manage dynamic and competing demands to ensure performance is within the annual budget.
Key Job Accountabilities

Direct & provide overall leadership to the asset team to deliver QELNG’s corporate goals and shareholder expectations related to all aspects of offshore assets performance.

Approve and manage all offshore operational risks, including wells and pipelines to lower the risk to As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP). Manage any offshore emergency as level 1 Incident Commander and provide input to operations level-2 Emergency Response Team, by providing leadership during any facility emergencies.

Create and motivate a harmonious offshore environment, where personnel share living accommodations for up to 28 days (or other alternate shift schedule) to ensure a conducive productive workforce whilst maintaining workforce morale. Oversee recruitment, training & development, competency assurance, motivation & succession planning, whilst ensuring the Asset is staffed with competent personnel to meet the current and future organizational demands.

Demonstrate visible leadership in Safety, Quality, Environment, and Integrity issues in accordance with QatarEnergy LNG Managements System processes and ensure adherence to all processes and standards by providing feedback and guidance to Heads of Operations & Maintenance/Logistics/well & Pipeline Operations when area for improvement is identified.

Ensure offshore operational input and support at all stages of Northfield offshore projects development and planning and ensure all brownfield execution is in alignment with OPCO expectations to ensure minimum volumetric downtime and exposure to existing facilities & production.
Key Job Accountabilities - II

Lead and authorize shutdown turnaround with in-house resources including planning, material identification, and work execution. This includes ensuring all facility maintenance strategies, including facility shutdowns and start-ups, pigging, subsea inspections are executed effectively with due consideration to safety and environmental issues. Accountable to implement & execute all integrity and maintenance programs associated with QELNG offshore wells.

Authorize & manage for all aspects of development of the asset annual operating and capital work plan and budget (WP&B) and subsequent stewardship of performance against the approved plan, with focus on cost optimization opportunities.

Work closely with Subsurface and other stakeholders through Upstream Gas Production Process to ensure and best align Offshore operations activities with onshore demand and to deliver on-spec and on-time gas volumes within specifications as required by Onshore facilities.

Implement necessary actions/initiatives to achieve pacesetter performance through directing and validating the collection of data for benchmarking including maintenance performance so that activity is within defined limits.

Focal point and integrator who directs cross assets support between multiple functions including engineering and Subsurface to capture synergies which drives the identification of improvement opportunities that maximize shareholder value.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
Knowledge and/or Experience
-
12 years’ experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry; with 5 years’ experience in offshore operations of which 3 years in leadership positions.
