Job Purpose
- Lead a crew of technicians to execute Electrical maintenance activities and support other maintenance activities in a safe, efficient and reliable manner in accordance with established policies and procedures, in alignment with company objectives. Support Project Management Team (PMT) and OES in pre-commissioning and commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of field electrical equipment, during Project Phase, in accordance with established schedules and procedures to ensure reliability and availability of the asset in a safe, efficient and reliable manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures and in alignment with company objectives.
Reporting and Relationships - I
- Reports to Discipline Senior Supervisor.
- Direct reports: 3-6.
Internal
- Frequent contact with discipline technicians, field operators, panel operators, production coordinator, planner, and material administrator.
- Periodic contact with onshore support engineers, warehouse, and logistics.
- Periodic contact with PMTs and OES members during project phase as required.
External
- Periodic contact with third party contractor service engineers etc.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - II
- Major challenges for this position:
-
(1) during project phase actively participate and provide support to ensure that deliverables related to Electrical discipline are available as per Operations Readiness Plan (ORP) and support completion of the deliverables at project handover: Actively participating in the activities starting from the cold/pre-commissioning of the facilities. The incumbent will be playing a key role in the “flawless” start-up assurance activities and checks that are critical for achieving a flawless (first) start-up, working in close cooperation with PMT and OES; (2) ensures Work Management controls are in place, for safe execution of planned work activities; (3) follows best practices and lesson learnt while planning or performing maintenance activities; (4) ensures all job prerequisites are available/verified activity commencement, including Bypass/Override (BPO), Toolbox Talks (TBT), Last Minute Risk Assessment (LMRA), etc; (5) executes preventive (PM)/corrective maintenance (CM) activities independently at remote platform facilities with remote support from line supervisor; (6) ensures maintenance details are captured and registered with company SAP system; (7) troubleshoots equipment failure or operational problems with support from other technical parties; (8) conducts periodic field quality audits and inspections; (9) integrates Major Project Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) activities to avoid base operations disruption.

Key Job Accountabilities - I
- Maintain an understanding of QatarEnergy LNG Management System (QLMS) processes and participates and supports this process to minimize SHE incidents.
- Prepare, perform and oversee maintenance activities related within own discipline, PM/CM/Shutdown (SD) and minor Engineering Management of Change (EMOC) activities in collaboration with the discipline or production supervisor, either in field or in the workshop, utilizing company safe work practices and in compliance with applicable maintenance procedures.
- Establish that all identified material and spares are available and in good condition before commencement of maintenance activity. Maintain tools and equipment in optimum condition and ensure the calibration validity of all equipment is retained and is available during any maintenance process, in compliance with all SHE&Q policies, procedures and standards.
- Provide accurate records and close-out reports of all completed work in alignment with company requirements, as detailed within the SAP Maintenance Management system and as requested by discipline supervisor.
- Support troubleshooting of field equipment issues, faults and failures though investigation using Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), technical equipment drawings, BOM Index, equipment data sheets and other documents to rectify anomalies and reinstate equipment.
Key Job Accountabilities - II
- Conduct regular toolbox meeting with colleagues and report all Near Miss Incidents and events during activities via the appropriate observation reporting system. Perform assigned Emergency Response team activities as directed by Management.
- Complete hazard identification assessments, Joint Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRAs) to ensure that all mandatory requirements for the issued Permit To Work (PTW) are in place prior to work commencement and throughout the work activities until completion.
- Provide for the co-ordination of contract services staff, when working on site to undertake maintenance and repair activities on installed equipment, to ensure the appropriate standard of work is carried out and that all safety and environmental standards are adhered to.
- Produce constructive input and feedback on field expansion issues to department focal point and participate in Front-End Engineering Design (FEED), Hazard and Operability (HAZOPs), Risk Screening (RS)/Formal Risk Assessments (FRAs), field completion activities, commissioning, and warranty/punch work with PMT and Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor, as directed by management.
- Provide support to project department while implementing new projects and ensure proper handover/completion as per company policy and procedure. Support OES Spare parts and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) teams by providing specialized inputs and contribute to delivering projects maintenance readiness deliverables to ensure safe and reliable start-up and life-cycle maintenance activities during projects.

Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirement
Qualifications
- Completion of Secondary School Education (12 years) followed by vocational training program (TAFE).
Knowledge and/or Experience - I
- 7 years’ experience in maintenance within the oil and gas sector, experience in facilities operating with safety first concept, work permit system, of which 3 years in supervisory level.
- Well-versed with safety practices and precautions related to electrical equipment, demonstrating responsible electrical behaviour.
- Proficient in performing electrical isolation, de-isolation and earthing tasks. Capable of executing switching operations up to 415V – 33KV levels, following the appropriate procedures and securing Authorised Electrical Person (AEP) certificate.
- Hands on experience on discipline maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
