Job Purpose
- Implement, develop, and achieve the identified business requirements and acquire and utilize the necessary resources and skills within the agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality using project management methodologies recognized by the company. Design and communicate high level technical structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.
Job Context & Major Challenge(s) - I
- The scope of the role covers all Major Projects IT, Telecom, Network, Applications, Information Security, and all business IT interfaces.
- Major challenge of the role is (1) Pressure on timeline due to the nature of expansion projects and urgency of business requirements, (2) Providing support may go beyond the normal operating hours, (3) Complexity of technical requirements, (4) Workload anticipated from the volume of the business requirements.
Key Job Accountabilities - I
- Contribute to the development of solution architectures in specific business, infrastructure or functional areas using appropriate tools and methods.
- Identify and evaluate alternative architectures and trade-offs in cost, performance, and scalability.
- Produce specifications of cloud-based or on-premises components, tiers, and interfaces for translation into detailed designs using selected services and products.
- Support a change program or project through the preparation of technical plans and application of design principles that comply with enterprise and solution architecture standards.
- Contribute to the formal review and evaluations when projects and programs end and document and communicate the lessons learned from the architecture development.
Key Job Accountabilities - II
- Define, document, and safely execute projects and actively participate in all phases of the project. Identify, assess, and coordinate risks and issues which might impact the success of the project.
- Estimate costs, timescales, and resource requirements for the successful delivery of the project(s) to agreed terms of reference. Monitor costs, timescales and resources used, and act where these deviate from agreed tolerances.
- Prepare and maintain realistic project schedules and quality plans and track all activities against them providing regular and accurate reports to senior management, and client/user management as appropriate.
- Assist in managing the change control procedure and gaining authorization for revisions to the project(s) from project sponsors and other stakeholders.
- Ensure that projects are formally closed and, where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, and that lessons learned are captured, actioned, and reported to the appropriate organizational entities for dissemination towards organizational learning and improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, information technology, information systems or other relevant discipline.
- Architecture qualification like TOGAF/ Zachman.
- Qualification in project management like PMP or Prince2.
Knowledge and/or Experience - I
- 8 years’ experience in techno management IT or business architecture with knowledge of IT within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with systems development lifecycle and problems associated with the implementation and operation of information systems.
- Proficient in Automated tools to assist in the project management process.
- Understands standard contracting procedures including experience in the development and negotiation of an SLA.
