Job Purpose

  • Provide in-depth control systems engineering support on DCS, ESD, FGS, and PLC related activities to meet Operations Expansion & Start-Up department (OES) objectives and Company strategy while ensuring the adequacy, security and performance of control systems to maintain safety, reliability, availability and operational efficiency.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

  • Provide control system engineering support, ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements, project specifications and approved variations, if any. Resolve engineering issues that may arise, communicating to stakeholders and elevating issues to higher levels when necessary.
  • Participate in and contribute to HAZOP and SIL workshops, design reviews, risk assessments, and periodic reviews of engineering documents, functional safety management of ESD systems, operation manuals, brownfield tie-in documents, and interface agreements. Support factory acceptance testing, offshore control system startup and commissioning activities, troubleshooting of control system issues, and development of maintenance strategies.
  • Provide expertise and support to other engineers in complex assignments to ensure completion of activities within schedule. Provide support to other disciplines and contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks.
  • Perform control system (DCS/SIS/PLC, etc.) administration activities such as (user access control, advisories review, OEM technical case follow-up, OEM service contract, etc) to support system reliability, availability, and operational continuity. Document best practices within the area of specialization, implementing performance improvement initiatives and reviewing and validating control system procedures.
  • Develop and control plans and work schedules to ensure effective completion of tasks and activities meet section and division KPIs. Control and supervise the activities undertaken by contractors, consultants, and service providers.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

  • Coordinate and implement control systems Management of Changes (MOCs), feasibility studies, and projects, ensuring completion of quality milestones as per policy and procedures following Company and international standards. Ensure that Company procedures are applied to the specification, design, and procurement of control systems.
  • Contribute to defining and implementing the Company integrity and reliability programs such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Equipment Strategy for PM. Contribute to HAZOP, SIL studies. Provide assessment / participate in review of brownfield impact due to Greenfield projects and identify single point failures.
  • Conduct trainings, support competency development plans, and keep abreast of new technologies in the field of specialisation.
  • Based on assignment serve/act as Subject Matter Expert and/or as Technical Authority in area of specialization. Participate in review of high-risk technical issues, specifications and deviations.
  • Provide support to OES’ Operations Readiness Plan (ORP) process, following up on deliverables, meeting milestone target dates and ensuring proper handover/completion as per Company policy and procedure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

  • 6 years’ experience in an oil and gas environment technical engineering.
  • Experience in control systems such as Foxboro, Emerson, Honeywell, Triconex, CCC, PLCs and applications such as AMS, APC, PI systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of relevant international standards such as IEC, ANSI/ISA and API RP and their application is necessary.
  • Experience in startup and commissioning of Oil and Gas Plants involving Compressors, Gas Turbines, Fired Heaters/Boilers.

Technical and Business Skills - I

  • Fluent in English language (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
  • Computer literate, and competent with a variety of engineering software tools.
