Job Purpose

  • Facilitate the maintenance and administration of all control systems, safety systems and field instruments deployed at QatarEnergy LNG onshore facilities.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Execute PM/CM activities for ICSS, facilitate major complex I&C activities, and provide engineering support to the field instrumentation team in compliance to maintenance procedures, safety and  quality requirements.
  • Support control systems Quality Assurance/Quality Control verification and execute instrumentation QA/QC verification during  maintenance PM/CM activities as applicable.
  • Provide day-to-day support to operations,  supporting in Alarm Management,  shutdown gate meetings,  Risk Based Work Selection (RBWS) meeting, asset monthly meetings, and management of issue register.
  • Handle the activities within Management of Change (MOC) process, such as implementation concurrence, system updates, and reviewing the facility impact. Provide input to the RCM team to improve system maintenance strategies, supporting in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), risk screening, Formal Risk Assessment (FRA).
  • Review availability and requirements of spares and raise Stock Amendment Request (SAR) as per requirements.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Participate in the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of new I&C systems, to ensure that the new technology is transferred and accepted into the Company.
  • Support the commissioning of control systems,  prior to plant start up, work in shift for shutdown and start up support requirements. Support tie-in of new projects to existing facility and handover from projects or shutdown.
  • Support in the management and continuous update of I&C systems maintenance policies and procedures, deliver trainings and contribute to strategic initiatives within the division, as applicable.
  • Perform Emergency Shut Down (ESD) tests as per the established test procedure for the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science majoring in instrument & controls, computer science or electronics.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 4 years Instrumentation and Control experience in oil and gas or petrochemical.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC’s, TMR, ESD systems and third-party System Interface with DCS. Basic knowledge of SAP system
  • Knowledge of control valve maintenance, safety instrument systems (SIS) maintenance, turbine instrumentation, various field instruments like DPT, RTD, thermowell, RADAR LT etc. Intermediate knowledge of SAP systems.
