Job Specification

Job Purpose

  • Maintain and administer Integrated Control Systems (ICS) deployed at the QatarEnergy LNG onshore facilities.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Provide support to the maintenance of the control systems through system monitoring, health checks, troubleshooting and analysis. Perform system activities such as backup of application, databases, and special files required for rebuilding the system.
  • Perform day-to-day troubleshooting including Level-2 complexity Issues, routine preventive maintenance/corrective maintenance activities as per maintenance strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day support to operations and as well as participating in Alarm Management and Project review Meetings, attend Risk Base Work Selection (RBWS), asset monthly meetings, management of issue register etc.
  • Work in shift for shutdown and start up support requirements during Shutdowns.
  • Support engineering in feasibility study report as well as responsible for Implementation of EMOC recommendations in the system. Provide technical advice and support as required on the design, construction, and initial operation of all control systems together with vendor and contractor support.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Provide inputs to RCM team for improving system maintenance strategies, participate and contribute to Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), risk screening, Formal Risk Assessment (FRA).
  • Review availability and requirements of spares and raise Stock Amendment Request (SAR) as per requirements.
  • Participate in the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) of new control systems, to ensure that the new technology is transferred and accepted into the Company.
  • Support, facilitate and coordinate the delivery of Operational Readiness Plan (ORP) deliverables to ensure the effective maintenance and administration of ICS at Company’s onshore facilities. Participate in commissioning of control systems prior to plant start up. Support tie-in of new projects to existing facility and handover from projects.
  • Provide in house technical trainings to Engineers and Asset Maintenance team as a part of technical competency program. Support Quality Assurance/Quality Control verification for maintenance PM/CM activities.

Part B: Person Specification - Minimum Requirement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science majoring in instrumentation and control (I&C), computer engineering or electronics engineering.

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 4 years Instrumentation and control experience in oil and gas or petrochemical.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC’s, TMR, ESD systems and third-party System Interface with DCS. Basic knowledge of SAP system.

Technical and Business Skills

  • Computer literacy of advanced level in Microsoft Office and database applications.
  • Competent in procedures development.
  • Training, competency assurance and coaching/mentoring skills.
  • Competence in accordance with technical competency framework requirements.
